strawberry fields
We took the kiddos strawberry picking. The weather was gorgeous and the strawberries were beautiful. We ended up with over 11 lbs. of straberries. Warning: Many pictures to follow. :)

A special kind of love
Eglin hosted their first Daddy Daughter Ball this weekend. Mike was lucky enough to have two dates for this ball. He took a little girl who is adear friend of ours. Her Daddy is deployed but we didn't want her to miss out on a night of being a princess. So the two girls and Mike had a wonderful dinner, played games and danced the night away. It was a very special night for all.

Family Room Camping
Santa brought the family camping gear for Christmas so we could enjoy the outdoors some more. Unfortunately the weather has been a little too rainy and cold lately and the kids were chomping at the bit to use our new tent.
So we improvised! We decided to let the kids camp in the family room over the weekend.
They were all too eager to help Daddy set up the tent. This was exciting stuff I tell ya!
Once the tent was set up, they all got their sleeping bags, pillows and blankets and began setting up their spots in the tent.
To keep with the camping theme, we made homemade pizza on the grill for dinner. The kids had so much fun rolling out their dough and putting their own toppings on them. I think even the biggest of kids had some fun too! :)
After our tummies were full of some good pizza and chocolate chip cookies, we all snuggled in for a movie before bed. The advantage of the tent in the family room is that it opened right up to the TV.
It took a while for the kids to fall asleep from all of the excitement but once they did, they slept great. And the best part was Mike and were able to sleep in our own comfortable bed too. As soon as it starts warming up I think we will transition to backyard camping before going all out.
This was certainly good memories for sure!

Christmas Day
Christmas was very quiet and nice this year. It was just the five of us and we were able to hang out in our pj's as long as we wanted. :)
Anyway, Christmas Eve the kids laid out reindeer food all over the front yard to make sure that the reindeer had enough energy to make it to all of the kids.
We spent the morning playing with our new "toys" and lounging. The kids all received outside toys from Santa so they took them out for a test run as well.
After some play time, we took them to see "Tangled" at the movie theater and then spent the rest of the day playing with friends in the neighborhood. Thank goodness for relaxing holidays. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas.
