selfless help.

PLEASE, I beg of you to head over to A Sister for the Bean and check out this raffle!

Claire's Super Huge Adoption Raffle-Raiser!

A little history: I have known Shelley and Bob for almost 6 years now. They welcomed us to Edwards in 2003 when Elizabeth was only a few weeks old. Our newest neighbors showed us grace, caring, friendship and compassion as we adjusted to our newest surroundings. Inviting us into their home for dinners and taking it upon themselves to watch Elizabeth when I was in a pinch were only a few things they did for us. We have stayed in touch through the years and I have heard of the trouble that Shelley had with her first pregnancy. With the interest of being the best mommy she can be to her little bean, they have decided to welcome a little girl from Korea into their lives. Bob and Shelley are probably two of the most selfless people I know and go out of their way to provide happiness to and for others. In order to make their dreams come true, Shelley has put together a raffle to help out with the adoption expenses. I think it is worth a look!

We love you guys and know that baby Claire will be a very blessed little girl to have you as a family!

worried.

Is this a glimpse of what a frat party will turn into or should we be further worried?

Check out the thong like action under that tutu!

So, so proud of my little man - let me tell you!

gloomy overcast day

So, what to do on a cloudy cold overcast Florida Sunday? Stare at each other all day? Head over to the mall (uggh)? OR....brave the cold and take a walk at Turkey Creek?

After our 1.5 mile walk, we stopped for a picnic lunch at the pavilions before we headed back home for nap time. We had a lot of fun and I know the kids enjoyed the fresh air - no matter how chilly it was.

i hurt my what?

Well, it has been done. I injured myself running. After experiencing some knee pain, I decided to go to the doctor so that I didn't end up with a stress fracture (like someone I know - hmmm) and found out that I have a strained MCL. What does this mean? No running for a week and then a wait and see what happens. I am icing like crazy and have support on my knee so that I don't injure it worse but I am thinking maybe this is a sign that I am not cut out for running. I guess only time will tell. Wish me luck that I heal fast and can get back to running. I only have 7 weeks left. Yikes!

the mouse is out of the bag

As my children sit on the couch with their bags packed and pretending they are on an airplane set for Walt Disney World, you wouldn't guess they were just a little excited about the news we just broke to them. Yep - that's right, we are going to Disney World in three weeks.

My in-laws are celebrating an anniversary down there and we are tagging along. Now that we have decided that we are going to actually go, I guess I better get my behind in gear and figure out what we need to take with us. :)

new bike

Santa was kind enough to bring AJ a new bike (Spiderman at that) for Christmas. He has been all over the place on his new bike trying to learn new tricks and scare Mommy even more with his antics.

With Santa's gift, also came the gift of a hand-me-down bike for Jacob. On went the training wheel again and he was propped up there and off he went. It only took him a few minutes to figure out the peddling. Our next challenge is to realize that there are breaks but, hey, all in time, right? Hopefully with all of the bike riding that Elizabeth and AJ do, we will have Jacob's training wheels off by the time he is three. We'll see about that one.

happy birthday to you

Happy Birthday Mom! We sure do miss you and wish we could be there with you on your special day. Love you very much!!!

new weight loss plan

Happy New Year to all!

As many of you know, last year I made the resolution to lose 30 lbs. Well....I was close at one point and then we moved to Florida with good food and good wine and I only got half way there. So with still 15 lbs to go, I figured this years goal would be 15lbs. So to start off the new year right, I lost 3 lbs in one day with ..... you ready for this....the stomach flu. YUCK!! Yep, the whole family spent New Year's Eve and New Year's day in bed or praying to the porcelain goddess. We are doing better today but certainly taking it slow. I am hoping that we met our quota for the year of this nasty virus.
