daddy's little princess.

Last night my little girl broke my heart. That isn't to say that she meant to or that she even knew she did. Elizabeth and her Daddy left for the evening all dressed up and ready for a night on the town. She had a Father-Daughter Dance for Girl Scouts.

She asked to have her hair done and made sure that she wore the prettiest dress she could find. She also asked if she could wear a little makeup since it was a special evening. I told her she could and helped her with the primping. She waited patiently while her Daddy got ready.

With sparkles in her eyes she waited patiently for it to be time to leave with her one and only true love of the night - her Daddy. Her Daddy has won her heart over and over many times and there will never be another like it.

This feeling is mutual as Daddy has a special place in his heart for his one and only daughter - a love that can not be duplicated. I must admit jealousy here for the special bond they have.
There was special dancing, raffles, friends and fun to be had. Even reunions at that.

My little girl even partook in the act of gossip and chatting amongst girls. Oh, how she is growing up!

As special as the night was for her and her Daddy, it too was special for me. To see her all dressed up and ready for a night out was only a glimpse of what is to come in the future. Don't get me wrong here. I am not looking forward to those days. I am just so happy that those first glimpses are spent with her beloved Daddy.

Oh, Carrie. So feeling for you. What mingled excitement and a little sad too. She's beautiful...and that's a true testament to all the love and care you've shown her. She'll be a wonderful woman. Love that girl. Love you.

What a sweet post. I remember going to Father/Daughter Square Dances with my Dad, memories that I will cherish always. Looks like there was a special twinkle in both Mike and Elizabeth's eyes. What a special event for them.
